Finance Manager (CA/SA)
We are looking to hire an experienced, high performing Finance Manager (CA/SA). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 4 years’ experience.
The Finance Manager will provide financial advice on business planning and assist in the decision making process to ensure that the business is financially successful. The Finance Manager will manage day-to-day financial activities and report to the Executive Finance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate financial statements and management accounts:
- Preparation and submission of accurate management accounts.
- Ensure adherence to IFRS.
- Preparation of the annual budget.
- Preparation of monthly forecasts.
- Review, analyse and interpret monthly results for accuracy and against targets.
- Review and preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments and provisions etc.
- Preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
- Contribute as a member of the company support system:
- Ensure financial risks are communicated.
- Advise regarding the financial health position of the company.
- Review creditor reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy of debtor invoicing and supplier reconciliations.
- Review payments for authorisation and validity.
- Review balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Monitoring and overseeing credit control function.
- Review and oversee all month-end functions, general ledger and stock procedures.
- General assistance during external audit, including schedules, and financial statements.
- Effective internal controls:
- Continuously follow financial procedures and policies.
- General assistance during internal control visits and internal audits.
- Implementation of external or internal audit requirements.
- Identification and fixing of control weaknesses.
- Completing monthly finance checklist to be reviewed and signed off.
- Ensure the completion of departmental job descriptions.
- Ensure the completion of personal development plans for staff.
- Manage work performance of all employees.
- Manage leave, attendance and absenteeism.
- Stakeholder relationships:
- Represent the company at external forums, peer groups, conferences, etc.
- Handle queries from stakeholders.
- Observant, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Highly accurate.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Required Experience
- At least 3 to 4 years proven experience at a senior level in a financial accounting environment.
- A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
- Relevant experience in the culture, arts, tourism and hospitality services sector is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualification(s)
- Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
- A Bachelor Degree in B. Com / B.Acc / B.Compt / B.Com (Hons) required.
- Registered as a Chartered Accountant (CA/SA) with the SAICA is required.
- MS Office (with advanced Excel working experience) is required.
- Advanced Power BI is required.
- Advanced SQL is required.
- Supervisory level exposure to Sage Evolution is required.
